A Prayer for the Novena of Pentecost

 

Blessed Lady of the Ascension, Jesus took your heart with Him to heaven and you were ever there in hope even as you remained on earth.  Guide our hearts to things above so that where He is we too may always be with Him.

Faithful Queen of the Apostles, those who would make disciples of all the nations, learned the greatness of their call from you, the first and best of Christ’s disciples.  Teach us too the art of prayer, that we may ponder as you did the mysteries of our faith.

Holy Mary, Spouse of the Spirit and Mother of the Church, you were filled with God from the first moment of your conception and you became an open channel of His love through His overshadowing power.  Open our souls to the fruitful action of the Holy Spirit so that from the rising of the sun to its setting, a perfect sacrifice of praise may be offered through your Son to the Eternal Father
