Postulant Nayeli

Last week our Aspirant Nayeli exchanged her white aspirancy veil for a black postulant veil, marking her first monastic milestone.  She also added a new postulant vest and Franciscan Tau Cross.  She is of Mexican descent and stands before the image of her beloved Lady of Guadalupe in our Novitiate common room.  "Postulant" comes from the Latin meaning "the asking one".  What does she ask?  Lots and lots of "how to" and "how come" questions!  She keeps the Formation Directress busy giving the practical details and the meanings behind all the ins and outs of monastic living.  But the main thing she asks is to be received more deeply into our way of life that leads to union with God.  Pray for her as she continues her Poor Clare journey.
